Bordeaux is one of the most important wine regions in the world.  The city of Bordeaux is a port on the Garonne River with many fine museums and mansions.  Dordogne is a delightful region in France, unless you are a duck - Sarlat is the foie gras capital of the world.  Sarlat is a handsome town, and is near castles and fortified villages like Beynac.
